So I took a little break from blogging due to a busy schedule and I honestly wasn’t sure what to write about.
I want my posts to mean something and be relevant to my life. I have been busy with my goal of being healthy and getting in shape. It hasn’t been easy at all, this is a very hard routine to get into and bad habits to break. But Ben has been huge encouragement for the times when I don’t want to go workout and my friend Lisa (perfect gym buddy) is always there when I need a little extra push. I am very thankful for these people especially during time of trials.
So yes that is my update for now.
What I did want to talk about is the concept of starting something and actually finishing it. This is something that is hard for me to do. Sometimes I lose patience and maybe a little bit of the drive and passion that I had at first. Like for example this blog, I have some goals that I want to achieve that I set for myself but sometimes when things don’t happen right away I lose focus.
My Dad sent me an article today. The gist of the article is how mindful you are and what your running style says about you and the way you do things in your life. I started thinking about how when I run I usually end up tiring myself out and slowing down towards the end of it. I need to learn to pace myself and to finish strong.
Great things take time and patience – I’ve heard it all – but putting that to practice is a skill that I need to improve on.
I don’t want to make this post too long or ramble on about something I still haven’t figured out yet, so I leave you with this question: What makes you get up in the morning? How do you stay true to your goals when things don’t seem to be moving forward as fast as you want them to?
